The limit is 64k bytes for a non-summary text field

...according to GeniiSoft's Domino Limits page -- keeping in mind that an LMBCS character can take between 1 and 4 bytes.

How exactly are you trying to add more data to the crDesc field? Is it via back-end code or somehow in the UI?
    • If the former is true, you might be hitting the limit of max. 16,267 characters -- equivalent to 32,000 bytes -- per [LotusScript] string literal.
    • If the latter is true, you'll likely be using a field on a form, which will re-establish the Summary flag for the underlying Notes item.
